We marked four months of protests last week and while the crowds have become smaller, the actions of the radical core have become more violent and sinister. The scenes of mobs trashing MTR stations, shops and banks seem a far cry from a more innocent beginning when an estimated 1 million people marched peacefully on the streets on June 9. This past weekend there was another rampage with mob justice meted out. A police officer was slashed in the neck by a box-cutter knife. Deluged by the torrent of information on social media, truth is also becoming a victim of the protests under a growing tide of fake news. What will this week bring?
