Election fever has hit the Philippines and the spotlight has fallen on Davao mayor Sara Duterte as speculation mounts she is eyeing the presidency come 2022 when her father, Rodrigo, steps down.

In Indonesia, incumbent Joko Widodo has declared victory while contender Prabowo Subianto disputes the result and rallies angry supporters. India's 39-day date with democracy meanwhile rumbles on, state by state, as the opposition challenges the narrative of Prime Minister Narenda Modi as the clear favourite.
